Asia de Cuba at Morgan's in New York City is one of my favorite restaurants. It has an Asian/Latin Fusion Menu that makes you feel like you are in Miami in one of the hottest restaurants EVER. The food is fresh, exotic, delicious, and served family style with great portions. The ambiance is refreshing and exhilarating. The service is simply the best. There are so many options available for all budgets! I intend to celebrate my birthday here this year with those closest to me and some of my favorites that I HIGHLY recommend you try!

For a taste of the most expensive ports, the Wealth Bulletin recently completed an index detailing the average daily rates of some of the most coveted dock spaces from here to Spain. Bearing in mind peak periods, and using a 230-foot vessel as its sample size (230 feet is the maximum length most popular ports are able to accommodate), the report has some surprising finds; for one, the top three marinas are located in Italy.

Capri, Italy

The daily average fee here is nearly $4,000, which you can better appreciate when you hear that there are just 10 slips available for megayachts. With that in mind, plan on making your reservations months in advance. Capri is also one of the most luxurious vacation spots in the entire Mediterranean, making this marina even more desirable to passing boats.

Porto Cervo, Italy

Barton G to Transform Miami’s Oasis for the Privileged Few

The former Gianni Versace mansion located on South Beach, Casa Casuarina, will soon be operated byBarton G. Weiss which will function as a restaurant and specialty boutique hotel.

Casa Casuarina is one of the most beautiful and well-known Ocean Drive hotspots, and while the property is owned by Peter Loftin, the 10-suite oceanfront villa will soon be managed by Barton G. Weiss who is in the process of turning it into a luxurious restaurant and specialty boutique hotel.

Loftin and Weiss are getting ready to make the deal official and 51-year-old Loftin says, “I’ve learned over the years what it takes to run Casa Casuarina. It takes a creative genius. I’m stepping aside. Barton is going to run the whole place. Nobody does it like Barton.”

It is reported that once everything is signed in ink, Weiss will be in possession of a 10-year lease with a 10-year renewable option. In addition to managing the property, Weiss will be rebranding it, The Villa by Barton G., and begin booking events and suites immediately. 53-year-old Weiss conquers with Loftin in regards to the significance the building has in South Beach and comments, “It’s a special building that needs to be managed correctly.” Weiss, who had a catering contract for special events with Casa Casuarina from 2003 to 2007, is hopefully that he’ll be able to open the restaurant by February 2010 and adds, “This is completely different. Now, I’m running the entire experience. It’s me, bringing my whimsical themeing to an iconic property—the Barton G. touch.”

Loftin, a telecom entrepreneur, purchased the villa three years after Versace died and lived there for four years before marketing the property as a private club and high-end hotel. Currently, Loftin offers public tours for $65 per person, which includes a complimentary mimosa, although there is no word as to whether these tours will continue once Weiss officially gets on board and the transformation ensues.

Casa Casuarina is the former Gianni Versace mansion and the front steps of the villa have become a popular photo-op for locals and tourist as it is the location where Versace was regretfully gunned down by Andrew Cunanan in 1997. Versace paid $2.9 million for the building in 1992 before converting it into the opulent residence it is today.

As soon as you think Dubai just can’t get any hauter, it does. This time it’s thanks to Design Q’s futuristic-inspired heliport design that just may transform the meaning of VIP travel around the Middle East.

International design consultancy Design Q is teaming up with the city of Dubai to create one of the chicest looking heliports ever to exist. The attention-grabbing blue prints are unveiled at the Dubai Air Show and feature a fully integrated heliport fit for a king. And queen. And their royal kids too.

The idea is that VIP customer’s will be able to drive their equally haute vehicles up to the heliport where they will be able to step straight from their car into a personal, air-conditioned luxurious lounge where they will proceed through an efficient check in. One of the many amazing parts of the design of the lounge is that it is created to raise and lower according to the appropriate landing port where the VIPs need to be.

Design Q’s director, Gary Doy, notes, “The idea behind the heliport is that the whole transport experience becomes seamless and opulent–it almost takes on a space station feel.” Designed with the VIPs in mind, the ‘door-to-door’ experience of the design means that travelers can avoid any inconvenient transfers between vehicles, departure lounges, and helicopters.

The revolutionary heliport is modular, meaning it can be constructed specifically for any major event, or be used in more permanent settings, depending on demand. “The idea of adding this heliport onto modular hotel accommodation is a fantastic opportunity to really impress any VIPs attending a major event in Dubai or Abu Dhabi,” Doy adds.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just really a poster of photos of things, people, etc that makes you happy and would help guide you to your ideal life. I highly recommend that you do a vision board. It is truly life changing!

Place it in places that you visit the most, bathroom mirror, bedroom wall, refrigerator in the kitchen, you get the picture. The subconscious mind will focus on this the more it sees it and guide you in the right direction to achieving it.

So let's get started and start getting your vision board together now. Start living your Best Life Now, with just this tiny little step in the right direction. All you need is a poster board (any size) scissors, glue, and multiple magazine or images that can be printed out.

Use those images from the magazine and/or the ones you printed out to cut out and glue to your poster board. These should be images of whatever you want in life. Do not limit yourself. Go full out and think of your wildest dreams if nothing was an obstacle for you.

Paying It Forward

One of the best things in life is giving back and helping others. It doesn't have to be anything overtop. It could be something as simple as when you are paying your toll on the highway, pay for the next person behind you. Volunteering once a week or once a month at a soup kitchen is another way of giving back and helping others. It only requires a small of amount of your time and if you are like me and your spare time is limited, then if possible, make a donation to a charity that is in line with your heart and passions.

In this economy today it is needed more than ever! Pay it forward by helping others and it will come back to you ten fold. The old saying goes, the best way to create wealth is to give it away. That means, giving money and/or your time to those in need. One of the charities that I support is Junior Achievement of New York. This organization has in-school, after school programs, and worklife experiences that teach kids how to succeed in a global economy.

I am all about living the best life surrounded in luxury. In NYC, it doesn't get any better than the Four Seasons Hotel's Ty Warner Penthouse Suite. Everytime I walk down 57th street, I always stop to look up and see (from a distance) the Penthouse Suite at the top of the Four Seasons. The approximate cost is $35K per night and it is still NOT the most expensive hotel suite, but by far, one of the BEST.

I have mentioned before in previous posts that I would bring you a variety of things that are either free, cheap, or very expensive. I'd like to think that so far I have achieved that goal. I am really excited about this one, Blog Talk Radio which is free!! Basically it's online service to host radio shows, podcasts, and blogs all on the website at NO charge to you.

You essentially are a radio show host online with the ability to reach people worldwide. Your show can be about any topic you choose! Did I mention that it is FREE?? Of course they do offer premium services at a cost for those that want to take it up a notch, but you don't have to do that. If you have something to say, why shouldn't the world hear about it.

Venice Hotel's Mistake Creates Rush for 1 Cent Weekend

ROME (Reuters) – Hundreds of holiday makers struck lucky when they chanced upon a very special offer -- a mistake in a hotel booking system which offered a romantic four-star weekend in Italy's lagoon city of Venicefor 1 cent.The offer, a tiny fraction of the Crowne Plaza Quarto D'Altino's normal rate of up to 150 euros (130 pounds) a night, was quickly withdrawn when staff realised the mistake, Italian state TV reported.In just a few hours, some 1,400 nights had been booked under the tariff, costing an estimated 90,000 euros for the hotel, part of the Intercontinental Hotels Group, the world's largest chain, media reported.

My Take: Now, I really wish I had been one of the lucky ones to book this before the mistake was caught. They have to honor the bookings and that is why it is going to cost them over 90,000 euros for this mistake. Althought it was shortlived, it was one of the best things in life. Can you imagine staying at a 4 star hotel with meals for an entire weekend for just 1 cent?

This is one of the best books that I have read this year. This book gives women equal playing field to understading why men do the things they do. Ladies you know exactly what I am talking about. I could not put this book down and I finished it in under 2 hours.

They profess their love in how they address you to family and friends. If a man, introduces a woman to his family/friends by her name or as his friend, you are NOT the one for him. If he intros you as his lady, girlfriend, etc, you are the one for him. A real man is never afraid to intro you to family and friends if you are really the one.

They provide, financially is a part of it, but providing is really about fixing and righting whatever is wrong. Men fix it, whatever the problem is.

They protect the ones they love. Enough said on this one.

I travel a lot both domestically and internationally. I am always looking for the best experience possible when traveling especially on international flights or any flight over 6 hours, which could be NYC to LAX or NYC to LHR (London).

The experience on Virgin America has been a WOW experience. From the moment you check in to the moment you leave your flight, you experience, what is truly GREAT customer service which is truly lacking in the airline industry.

Once on the plane, there is the mood lighting to help with easy transition from Day to Night which really helps on long flights. The food is amazing and included with your ticket, there are CLEAN pillows and blankets and NO extra charge, leg room with extremely comfortable seats....aaagghhh...FINALLY, and last but not least, Entertainment On Demand TV in both Economy and First Class with so many options to choose from.

Virgin America is setting a new standard for travel and my hopes are that the other airlines at least try to catch up. Not to say there aren't any other airlines that are just as good, but right now Virgin America has my attention. I will give updates on other airlines that I will be traveling on if they equal or beat the AMAZING service I received at Virgin America. Travel like a Virgin!

If you are a bread girl like me, then you understand that quest to find and have the best when it comes to any type of bread whether it is Croissants, Biscuits, Pancakes, etc. These croissants were featured on Oprah a few years ago, but I never got around to trying them until recently. Well known from the beginning of the Cap d'Antibes, La Baie de la Garoupe, offers charming little beaches, most of them private, where you can rent a mattress to spend the day. By clear day you can see the Bay of Nice and the mountains in the background.

You may enjoy walking in the magnificent streets of Le Cap d'Antibes, looking at great dwellings hidden by maritime pines or other exotic plants, and hiding themselves the deep blueMéditerranée.

One of the main occupations while staying at Le Cap d'Antibes: resting at the beach of course! There are many sandy beaches at Le Cap d'Antibes as well as in Juan les Pins or Antibes. Most of them are private (see above). You usually rent a mattress for 50 FF to 75 FF a day. Most of the private beaches have restaurants, sometimes on the beach itself (especially in Juan les Pins) usually good, proposing provençale cuisine, fresh fishes or seafood.

The main public beach is La Salis, on the edge of Le Cap d'Antibes. Public beaches are usually very crowded in the summer time.

This is a beautiful place to visit and just relax in a private oasis.

I have never seen such a surprising thing as Antibes in front of the FrenchAlps when the sun is falling.

I saw this feature on the Non-Stop New York News Channel and what caught my attention was a spa that is open 24/7 and completely legit. I googled the spa, Juvenex Spa, and the website is amazing. Now the true test will be how good the services are.....Survey says.....The spa services are simply some of the best I have ever had.

Don't be fooled by the unmarked building, or the so-so decor, or as you are riding up the elevator....the loud music you hear blaring from the karaoke bar...once you step off the elevator, you step into a calm and serene oasis.

From 7am to 7pm, the spa is for ladies only. After 7pm it becomes a co-ed spa. The reason for being open all night is that they have a great deal of Broadway performers and dancers that finish their shows after 11pm and have been on their feet all day and come to the spa after work.

This spa is about the treatments and nothing more and the prices are affordable. If you are looking for that high-end spa, this is NOT it, but the amazingly thorough treatments allows me to overlook this. You must try the Korean Scrub....Love It...Love It!! FYI...be very comfortable with your body as this is a very open spa, meaning there are not that many walls, private rooms, etc...just wide open spaces.

Ruth Chris Steakhouse - NYC Restaurant Week

Another great day at Restaurant Week. This time I went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse for Dinner and it was absolutely amazing. I had Louisiana Seafood Gumbo for the appetizer, Filet Mignon with Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach for the main entree, and Chocolate Moose Cheesecake with Fresh Berries in a sweet cream and all for $35. This whole meal would have easily cost over $100. It was delicious! Check the photos below....

Restaurant Week in NYC - City Crab

One of the best things about NYC is Restaurant Week which takes place twice a year. Many of the best and sometimes most expensive restaurants participate. A full 3 course meal for lunch is $24.07 and a full 3 course meal for dinner is $35. Regular price at many of these restaurants would run you well over $100 per person.

I am posting the 3rd course first because I just love

dessert. Key Lime Pie with Whipped Cream and Caramel Sauce. I remembered to take the picture after I had already tore in to it.

I took the picture before I tore into it. You don't want to see what it looked like afterwards. It also came with a side of Corn on the Cob.

This year features Mr. Chows, Center Cut, Asia De Cuba, and so many others. I decided to try a new place for my self and went to City Crabs on 235 Park Ave South at 19th street. I love, love, love seafood and when I saw the menu I could not resist. For each restaurant, you get one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert, a full meal. Restaurant Week ends on July 31st. Four Seasons-Washington DC Royal Suite

Thank you to Johnica Reed of Urbane Getaways for this Amazing Video. This blog is about the Best Things In Life According to me :) and some things that I post will be very affordable and quite possibly free, but others will be very luxurious and very expensive....This is one of them.

The Four Seasons in Washington DC has the most amazing 4,000 sq ft, yes you read right, 4,000 sq foot Royal Suite that is also bullet proof. Wow! Johnica has this amazing video footage giving a tour of the inside of the suite and I wanted to share it with you. Check the video below and tell me what you think. Talk about luxurious and the price tag for this suite per is....DRUMS.....$12,500 per night.

I can hear some of you gasping for air. Keep in mind this actually quite a bargain considering what you are getting and the going rate for other similar suites. The Time Warner Penthouse Suite at the Four Seasons in NYC is $35,000 per night.

St. Marteen/St. Martin - The Beach Life

There is so much to do in St. Marteen/St. Martin, but I will focus on the beaches for this post as I love them so much. The island is divided in two, one side is French (St. Martin) and the other is Dutch (St. Marteen). The Dutch side of the island is more commercial and laid back. The french side is more country like and a bit stricter on the law. Either way you will have a great time with great food all over the island. You must try the Johnny Cakes, DELICIOUS!

Back to the Beach Life...

As hard to believe as it may be, St. Maarten/St. Martin has thirty-seven beaches on its thirty-seven square miles! Whatever your lifestyle or vacation style, there will certainly be a beach suited to the ambience you desire. For the action seeker, many beaches offer water sports of every description. If quiet and privacy is more to your liking, St. Maarten/St. Martin has numerous beaches that are semi to totally secluded and offer little or no facilities. Ask a local for directions. Enjoying the beach in the nude is possible at several locations, topless is the norm on St. Maarten/St. Martin.
